Open Education Week at UofT

An annual celebration, Open Education Week runs from March 1 – 5, 2021. ‘Open’ refers to the idea of sharing freely available content, and by extension the open or collective production of that content. The event provides an opportunity for sharing and learning about the latest achievements in Open Education (OE) and Open Educational Resources (OER) worldwide.

Here at UofT we will be celebrating with two virtual half day drop-in sessions offered by the University of Toronto Libraries (March 3: 1-4 p.m. & March 5: 9-12 p.m). Learn how to make your educational resources open or integrate open content into your teaching practice through presentations and “build-a-longs” during Open Education Week.

Members of Online Learning Strategies will be participating in two showcase events on March 05:

    • Open Pedagogy On-Ramps: Will Heikoop & Hedieh Najafi will identify open pedagogy attributes for participants to incorporate in their own practice (9:15 – 9:35 am).
    • A Speedy Introduction to eCampusOntario Pressbooks and H5P Studio: Andrea Liede-Sevsek & Rama Kaba-Demanin will provide support in navigating and utilizing eCampusOntario Pressbooks and H5P Studio (10:30 – 10:50 am).
